The Rams were well and truly in the contest in the opening half, with the score at one point 6-all, but the sheer speed of the Southern squad was too much to cope with as the match progressed.
Rams coach Mick Armstrong said the match's blinding pace was an eye-opening experience for the Group 10 and 11 players coming together for the first time.
"They scored both of their first two tries off kicks which were a bit lucky but they were such a quick side," he said.
"I don't think the score line was an accurate reflection of the game though. They just managed to run away with the game in the last 10 minutes.
"Tilly Power was great for us. Our fullback Heidi Reagan and centre Sophie Stammers played excellent. Everyone out there did the job they went out there to do."
Bathurst Panthers player Claire Woolmington scored the try for the Rams side in the opening half but it would sadly be the only one for them on the day.
While the Rams missed the conversion St Pat's halfback Mish Somers was able to quickly follow up with a penalty goal, levelling the game back up on the score board.
After that it was one-way traffic when the Stars turned on the afterburners and gave the Rams a sign of what to expect for their next crack at the championships.
"It's definitely the quickest game of league tag that I've ever watched, and a lot of the girls said that as well. They were helped by one of the current Jillaroos players [Kezie Apps] and there were a couple of little things that we just didn't get right," Armstrong said.
