With only 15 players available and a month off football the Blues were going to have to be very committed to the task at hand to win what was always going to be a hard-fought game against the third placed Platypi.
The Blues started the match strongly and pressured the Forbes line from very early on.
A flat pass from Charlie Bible to Tim Cushan was called forward as the big number 8 charged over the line under the posts.
The Blues regrouped as Forbes began to control possession but the Blues' defence around the rucks was magnificent, with Jock Lawry, Will Sinclair, Ben Towers, and Bible dominant.
Ben Knaggs was very effective at the breakdown, and on numerous occasions was able to steal the ball from Forbes to allow the Blues to gain the upper hand.
Strong defence from Will Smith and Dalton Metcalfe saw the Blues find space and Bible was at again. This time there was no stopping Cushan as he charged over to score, and with Jack Jones' conversion the Blues were up 7-0.
Rhys Martens at fullback, Jones in the centres and Will Smith were benefitting from the room being created by five-eighth Metcalf and the Blues were taking control of the game prior to half-time.
Just after the break some great hands through the Blues' backline saw fullback Martens charge through a gap to score to take the game to 12-0.
Right from the kick-off the Blues were at it again and with strong runs by Iziaiah Raidaveta and Lachy Edgar, the Blues were again camped in Forbes' territory.
From a scrum win, Metcalfe slid across field and threw a magnificent dummy and raced in for a try out wide to make the score 17-0.
The Blues' forward line of Bible, Knaggs, Cushan, Towers, Lawry, Sinclair, Raidaveta and Edgar were totally dominant and worked themselves to a standstill, with Bible and Raidaveta rewarded with late second-half tries to give the Blues the outstanding 27-0 victory on the road.
Wingers Lewis Foran and Jack Passmore both made great long runs through the Forbes defence and were very strong in defence as well.
