Xavier is the son of well-known local musicians Paul and Maggie Dunn and will join the likes of Seth Sentry, Slumberjack, Savage, Risque and Human Movement on stage at a festival that is being promoted as the biggest party on the eastern seaboard on Saturday, April 9.
Police Paddock in North Dubbo will be transformed into a festival zone, with two stages up and running across most of the day before Sentry, who performed in the city when Triple J's One Night Stand was here in 2013, wraps up proceedings with the final set of the night from 10pm-11pm.
Dunn's set will feature from 1.40pm-2.20pm on the Girrawa (Goanna) Stage.
On his Facebook page, Dunn said he was excited to be returning home for an event of the magnitude of Roar.
"Pretty pumped about this festival being held in Dubbo," his post said.
"Creating a festival in Australia is hard enough but doing it all the way out in Dubbo is another story. All the work being put into Roar Music Festival is immense and I'm uber happy to be invited to share in the central western explosion."
As well as the established talent that will be on stage at the festival, a competition is currently being held to find a DJ to have their breakthrough gig at Roar.
Connor McNamara (Cordova), DJ Emalia Jane, Chris Matuschka (Tuschka), Tapas Coladas (Noelzy Bee), The Eclipse Movemment (Marnie Parfitt) are the five finalists for the competition, with the winner to be announced prior to the big event.
Tickets for the Roar Festival are still available and can be obtained by visiting the website.
Due to demand a limited number of VIP tickets have been released, with that area featuring a private bar, clear elevated viewing area of the main stage, toilets, seated areas and two drink tokens on arrival.
