Trent Towney, 23, was taken into custody after a 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at Gilgandra on July 20, 2013.
Police said the man had been stabbed in the neck and arm.
Towney entered a plea of not guilty when he was formally arraigned before Justice Des Fagan at Orange courthouse on February 1.
A jury was empanelled and the court was told the trial was expected to run for up to 15 days.
On February 2, one juror was dismissed after the court heard he was acquainted with a distant relative of the deceased.
Justice Fagan said the trial would continue with an 11-member jury.
On Thursday the jury returned a guilty verdict. The matter was listed for a sentence hearing on February 16.
Towney remains in custody.
Co-accused Jade Hunt, then aged 18, was arrested on a charge of being an accessory after the fact to murder.
She received a two-year and eight-month jail sentence in the Supreme Court in Sydney in September 2014.
Justice Richard Button ordered the prison term to start on July 20, 2013 (when Hunt was taken into custody). A non-parole term of one year and four months was set.
