Peak Hill's new $12 million Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) got its moment in the spotlight on Wednesday when NSW Deputy Premier and state Member for Dubbo Troy Grant, NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner and state Member for Orange Andrew Gee joined forces to officially throw its doors open.

Missing was NSW Premier Mike Baird who led the charge on Tuesday with an official opening ceremony at the new clinical services building at Dubbo Hospital, the major component of its $91.3 million stage one and two redevelopment.

Later in the day he travelled to Parkes to open its $72.8 million hospital on a new site and Forbes Hospital that is being redeveloped to the tune of $40.9 million.

Federal member for Parkes Mark Coulton and federal Member for Calare John Cobb attended the Dubbo and Peak Hill ceremonies, respectively.

The federal government invested $7.1 million in Dubbo's new health facility and $6 million in the Peak Hill MPS.

On Wednesday Mr Grant said the MPS had significantly improved the health of patients and aged-care residents since becoming operational in 2015.

"The Peak Hill MPS is a fantastic example of what we can do on a smaller healthcare scale, delivering tailored services to meet the needs of the community," he said.

The facility's services range from accommodation for people with low-level dementia through to dental care.
