A record number of 910 people attended the Taronga Western Plains Zoo concert, held at the African Picnic Grounds on Saturday, despite cool conditions and rain that fell the night before.
In 2011, about 450 people attended the musical event with many staying away because of wet weather.
Prior to this year's record numbers, a crowd attendance of slightly more than 800 was the highest number of people Zoo Grooves had seen since it began in 2008.
Cold Chisel icon Ian Moss, party band Jelly Bean Jam and Dubbo talent Mumblepants provided the melodies, which got many in the crowd up and dancing.
The family day outing not only provided live entertainment but also animal encounters and free activities for the kids.
The money raised at Zoo Grooves assists Taronga Western Plains Zoo in supporting conservation work across various areas.
This year, profits from the event will support the ring-tailed lemur.
