Cr Jones received the outstanding lifetime achievement award, one of 20 categories at the annual event celebrating women in the central west, Orana and far west regions of NSW.
Diana Violet Hoffman of Broken Hill was highly commended in the category, while Dubbo's Lynn Field and Bugaldie's Robyn Cosgrove were finalists.
The night also saw Dr Yvonne McMaster win the inaugural award for women living outside the region, for her passion to achieve more support for palliative care in the region.
Cr Jones said she had three loves - her husband Peter, Lions Clubs International District 201N4 and her community of Wellington, which had been supporting her efforts for 30 years.
"I feel privileged and honoured to be awarded, but it's not something you can achieve on your own, you achieve as a team and my team, the Wellington community has been with me every step of the way," she said.
The awards night had Mary Coustas of 'Effie' fame as master of ceremonies and Cr Jones said it had been wonderful.
"She was so funny, she had the whole audience engaged," Cr Jones said.
"It was a wonderful, wonderful night... the WOW committee did an outstanding job with the venue, food and entertainment," she said.
The three WOW Ambassador Awards were presented to Lisa Green of Bathurst for the central west region, Leanne Ferguson of Dubbo for the Orana region and Diana Violet Hoffman of Broken Hill for the far west region.
WOW president Jan Grady said the night was attended by 255 people and undercover entertainment was Australian ABBA group Abbalanche who were "fantastic".
