With the Dubbo Sheepdog Workers' Club celebrating its 10th year of hosting the trials, the four day event is again expecting to showcase some of the best in the sheepdog business, with people travelling from Western Australia, Victoria and Queensland for it.
Dubbo Sheepdog Workers' Club secretary Jon Cantrall is looking forward to the event.
"It is a bit of a milestone, we've been lucky cause most people come back year on year which is great," he said.
"There has been some steady growth with the event, but the first few years were well attended as well.
"What you'll get is people are happy to travel for it, and do several sheep dog trials while they are on the road."
With over 300 registrations already received, Mr Cantrall believes the staging of the event will be great for the surrounding local towns.
"All the competitors will be spending a lot of money in the towns," he said.
"They'll be needing all the usual services like food, drink, fuel and accommodation so its great they'll be getting that locally."
Mr Cantrall declared local entrants Greg Prince, who later in the year will compete in the Australian Sheep Dog Team, and Mick Hudson, who is a NSW representative, are two of the people to beat next week.
"A couple of members of our club are great performers and I'd expect them to do really well," he said.
"There will be a high standard of control and precision on display and its free entry so hopefully anyone interested will come out and have a look.
"There are three levels of competition in encourage, novice and open so whether you are a seasoned competitor or new to the sport you will be competing against people at your level."
