Transport Heritage NSW's Great Western Tour will operate from August 12 to 23.
The tour would provide one-way and return journeys aboard 1930s heritage carriages led by historic steam locomotive 3642.
Locomotive 3642, a coal-fired 36 Class steam locomotive built in 1926, was withdrawn from service in 1969 and is now preserved by Transport Heritage NSW (THNSW).
THNSW chief executive Andrew Killingsworth said the tour would engage regional communities and schools.
"Locomotive 3642 was an important development of express passenger power on the NSW railways and worked for much of its career in central west NSW," he said.
Among the journeys offered this month were a return trip between Dubbo and Wongarbon on Saturday August 15 and Sunday, August 16, and trips from Dubbo to Narromine, Nyngan and Orange.
A timetable with stopping locations and booking information was available at www.transportheritagensw.com.au/greatwesterntour or by phoning 1300 11 55 99.
