Mr Morgan, Newcastle's National College of Dance principal, was formerly a principal dancer in the Australian Ballet and associate artistic director of Sydney Dance Company.
Spending his Saturday running masterclasses in contemporary and classical ballet, followed by private lessons, Mr Morgan said he was blown away with the talent in the central west.
The first of what he hoped to be many trips to Dubbo, Mr Morgan said he was able to see why the city was a hub of the Orana region.
"Today has been about showing the students here the other options than furthering their dancing careers in Sydney or Melbourne," Mr Morgan said.
When he spoke to the Daily Liberal, Mr Morgan was yet to start his masterclasses with the senior students at Dubbo Ballet Studio, but he said he was amazed at the talent shown by the junior students.
"They're very open minded, spirited and fearless," he said. "I've seen so many young dancers here today that are keen to get the most of our the opportunities presented to them."
Dubbo Ballet Studio principal Anna Bloomfield said she had enjoyed the less pressured atmosphere of the masterclasses.
"The students have walked away feeling spirited," Mrs Bloomfield said.
"They're able to grow from these opportunities in technique and confidence."
