Saturday's Group 11 local derby between Macquarie and Westside had absolutely everything.
The match was marred by an ugly fight midway through the first half that resulted in Westside captain Shane Konz and Macquarie back-rower Perry Meredith being sent from the field but no one in the crowd could argue the match was not entertaining.
Down by four points and with the clock winding down, Macquarie winger Ash Widders grabbed his fourth try of the afternoon to lock it up at 42-all and then Mason Williams nailed the conversion to give his side just their fourth win of the season.
In other matches, CYMS continued their march towards the minor premiership by demolishing Cobar while fellow premiership contenders Parkes and Wellington also had success.
