Heading into that round, Dubbo FC 1 continue to sit atop the ladder after recording a particularly impressive win last Sunday in a season stacked with eye-catching performances.
The Bulls' top side knocked off Orana Spurs 2 8-1 but the fact they only had nine players makes the lopsided result even more of a standout.
With work commitments, holidays and injuries it was a depleted Bulls side but they still got the job done with Connor Jarrett a standout in the middle of the park.
Elsewhere, Orana Spurs 1 continue to prove they are one of the other competition favourites with a 3-1 win over Dubbo FC 2.
Spurs, having only lost once this season, came flying out of the gates and two quick goals had them well on top.
Despite Bulls 2 getting on the scoresheet in the second half it was not enough and Spurs remain equal at the top with the Bulls, however the defending premiers do have a game in hand.
The Spurs attacking talent has really come to the fore this season and they have now scored an incredible 95 goals, more than any other in the competition.
That in itself is impressive but the fact they have also conceded the fewest goals, just nine, is proof they are capable of wrestling the title away from the Bulls in 2015.
Elsewhere on Sunday, South Dubbo Wanderers (SDW) 1 showed they are to be taken lightly once the competition splits with an 8-1 win over Wellington.
Sitting fourth at the moment, SDW 1 look set to stay in the top division after the split, especially after putting in one of their best performances of the season on Sunday.
The Macquarie United derby turned out to be a fizzer with the number 1 side forfeiting, handing Macquarie United 2 an automatic 3-0 loss.
Westside produced the shock of the round as they defeated EDU 4-1, just their second win of the season.
In the final match, SDW 2 cruised past Newtown 4-0.
This weekend sees Dubbo FC 1 meet high-flying Macquarie United 2 while the other 3pm games are Westside versus Newtown and Orana Spurs 2 taking on SDW 2.
Sunday's action will begin at 1pm with Macquarie United 1 taking on Dubbo FC 2, Orana Spurs 1 playing South Dubbo Wanderers 1 while Wellington will play host to EDU.
Dubbo FC 1 and Dubbo FC 2 still have their local derby, catch-up match to play before the competition splits in two.
