The commander of the 5th Brigade since 2014, she will be the guest speaker at the 11am service at the cenotaph in Victoria Park.
Thousands of people are expected to gather at Dubbo’s war memorial on Saturday, the 100th anniversary of the Anzac landing at Gallipoli.
“I am extremely honoured to be spending this historic Anzac Day in Dubbo and playing a small part in the Dubbo community’s commemorations on the day,” Brigadier Campbell said.
“The Dubbo community shouldered a heavy load during the First World War, with hundreds of Dubbo men enlisted to serve with the Australian Imperial Force, and 256 of them paid the supreme sacrifice.
“I look forward to seeing a big turn-out in Dubbo on Saturday to honour not only those who served a century ago, but also those men and women who have served Australia in more recent conflicts.”
Brigadier Campbell was born at Toowoomba and enlisted in the army in 1989.
Through her long career she has achieved a number of distinctions and was awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross.
Two members of the Light Horse would be attending the dawn service and march, Dubbo RSL Sub-branch president Tom Gray said.
Vintage cars would again be put to use in the march, and participants were to form up at 9.45am in Wingewarra Street outside the Dubbo RSL Memorial Club, he said.
It will start at 10.15am, with its route including Wingewarra, Macquarie and Talbragar streets before arriving in Victoria Park for the service at 11am.
