IWRA president and co-founder of the Lake Burrendong Classic catch and release fishing competition Matt Hansen, was humbled by the support.
"Without the support of the community and like minded people we'd never be in this position," Mr Hansen said.
Castlereagh Hotel social club president, Ross McDermott said the association included keen fisherman who were happy to help the IWRA.
"We'll continue to help them throughout the year. It's a great cause for the region," Mr McDermott said.
The fishing competition fundraiser has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars to better local waterways, and last year saw a crowd of almost 3,000 people, including 1,500 anglers converge on Lake Burrendong.
The Castlereagh Hotel's co-owner, Chris McKechnie said the Castlereagh Hotel was happy to support the social club and the IWRA Lake Burrendong fishing competition.
"As a keen fisherman myself I believe fishing in the Dubbo area is as good as it's ever been in my lifetime and this is all due to the hard work of the IWRA.
"We reap the benefits of the great work they have been doing for our local waterways, and it'd be great to see more community involvement," Mr McKechnie said. The fishing competition will be held over this Easter Long weekend, and will kick off on Friday, April 3.
