The come-and-try T20 Blast indoor cricket day hosted at Dubbo Sports World last Thursday was a huge success for a first up come-and-try event, with more than eight teams represented on the day.

Cricket Australia's Cricket Manager for Indoor Cricket, Paul Milo, even showed up to check out proceedings as Dubbo is one of only a handful of centres chosen to trial the T20 Blast indoor format.
The come-and-try Blast day was the forerunner to the start of the new winter indoor cricket competitions that are starting from this week onward.
The format, designed by Cricket Australia, is in keeping with the junior T20 Blast format that was widely used in outdoor cricket junior competitions this year.
The T20 Blast format is such that the junior players get to not only play a game each week but will also spend some time under the guidance of Sports World cricket co-ordinator Dan French (and hopefully other guest coaches) in developing cricket skills.
French stressed although the come-and-try day saw plenty of interest, with some 10 teams nominating to be in the eight-week competition, nominations were still being accepted during the next two weeks from teams comprising students in years 5/6 and 7/8.
More girls are also welcome to attend as it is a fantastic way of introducing and enhancing their playing confidence.
"If we can get just 20 girls to put their hand up and have a go we will be able to start a girls-only competition," he said.
A number of year 4 players with some cricket experience behind them from playing Thursday night outdoor have also nominated, via their parents, to play in the years 5/6 competition.
This is fine as the youngsters have played cricket and their participation is endorsed by their parents.
Interested players who have not yet nominated themselves or their five-a-side team to play should do so as soon as possible by contacting the stadium on 6884 0123 and speak to either Dan or Greg.
