DUBBO Golf Club has confirmed itself as a leading player in central west golf this year and heads into this weekend's pennants finals with a chance to record a clean sweep of the titles.
All four Dubbo sides won their semi-finals on Sunday and have advanced to this weekend's finals of the Central West District Golf Association's pennants competition at Forbes.
An understrength Division 1 side proved too strong for Parkes while the other three divisions had wins over Forbes, Duntryleague and Bathurst respectively.
After winning the Division 3 title last year Dubbo Golf Club has shown huge improvements in 2015 and club professional Craig Mears is delighted by the efforts on the course.
"It's an unbelievable achievement and now we're all set for the final at Forbes on Sunday," he said.
"It's massive, it's been a fantastic effort.
"If we get all four it means there will be a fairly big party at the 'Golfy' next Sunday but if we do get a couple that would be great and to get all four would just make us ecstatic."
After impressive showings regularly to date, Dubbo faces one of the toughest assignments in local golf in the final with a meeting against Orange's Duntryleague in Division 1.
Headlined by leading golfer Robert Payne, Duntryleague are regulars in the finals and are aiming for their third straight title but Mears said the Dubbo team goes into the match high in confidence after defeating Parkes without two regulars.
"Division 1 were weakened with Ross Horrocks and Pat Wilson competing at an event in Melbourne but there was a great win from James Gleeson, who defeated Matt Egan, so that's a real feather in his cap and he's been playing some great golf recently," he said, before turning his attention to the Orange powerhouse.
"They've obviously won quite a few but we've got the strongest Division 1 side we've had for quite some time so I'm quietly confident in a really good showing.
"There's still a lot of golf to be played but I think we're a good chance."
Dubbo will be boosted by the return of Horrocks and Wilson for the decider.
A real hallmark of Dubbo's success this season has been down to the work of some of the club's younger players.
James Gleeson and Jones Comerford have been standouts in Division 1 while the likes of Alex Haylock and Jonathan Bourne have also impressed.
"There's a lot of juniors in all the grades so it shows there's a lot of depth around at the moment and going forward into the future," he said.
"And it's not just Division 1 where we've got James and 'Jonesy' but all the way down to Division 4 so it's great to see so many juniors."
Division 2 will take on Parkes in the final while Division 3 will defend their title against Wentworth.
In Division 4 it's set to be a local decider with Dubbo meeting Wellington.
Mears said the whole club was delighted by the progress made this year and said it was a great example of golf in Dubbo, with a huge increase in interest and numbers recently.
"There's a lot of new faces and there's new players from competitions like the Super Sixes because it creates interest and now we've got some members who two or three years ago might not have even been playing golf," he said.
