Dubbo's quest for back-to-back Western Premier League titles resumes tomorrow with Tim Cox and his men taking on Blue Mountains in the semi-finals.
With grounds in Dubbo being rested before the four-day Under-13s and 14s State Challenge Carnival the match has been transferred to Wellington and opening batsman Mitch Bower said it's a great chance for his side to build on the performances they put in at the SCG Country Cup finals last month.
"It's a big opportunity here for us, we've got a strong side and we know if we play well we should be able to win," he said.
"Our aim is always the same, the batsman and bowlers have got to do the job and we've got to support each other like we have, there's a good feeling around the representative side this season."
Bower admits his side don't know a great deal about the Blue Mountains side but expects their Mitchell rivals to know a lot about their style of play with all-round cricket man David Redden being the side's manager.
The men from the mountains defeated an understrength Dubbo side last season but Bower said there is a different and more positive feeling in the camp this season, especially since their trip to Wollongong for the SCG Cup finals.
"It brought us together a lot more as a team, we're really playing together," he said.
"But it's cricket, if we going in thinking we've got the game won then we'll have a rough trot but if we play the same as we have and take the same mentality in then we should be fine."
Dubbo will be without the unavailable Jordan Moran today while they will also be without Ben Patterson, who has left Dubbo for the Sydney first grade competition.
All 11 players in action today were part of the SCG Cup side which just went down to Merewether in the semi-finals while skipper Cox leads the team fresh from being named in the Australian Country side this week.
"We've sort of come to expect it from Tim," Bower said of his skipper.
"He does it week-in, week-out and always does his job and never really gets the credit he probably deserves for his bowling and all his organising.
"I think we've all come to expect it rather than appreciate what he does."
Today's match begins at 10am in Wellington.
