The four-year-old gelding has finished inside the top two in the past five starts for Thompson and will jump from gate four in today's $15,000 Wellington Mowers and Chainsaws Wellington Valley Handicap (1400m).
The fifth race of the day is shaping as the highlight of the seven-race meeting with Iwilldoit going up against last start winners Ten To Zero, trained by Dubbo's Garry Lunn, and the Colin Edgar-trained Sensational Moment.
Iwilldoit finished second at Dubbo earlier this month, coming in behind Esprit Lad over 1100m but Thompson will be hoping the extra distance helps his gelding go one better.
Iwilldoit recorded back-to-back wins at Dubbo and Coonamble in June before having an eight week spell after a second at Mudgee.
Thompson returned the son of Ad Valorem and Coasters to the track earlier this month and was back in the winner's circle immediately with a win at Mudgee, followed up with the second-place at Dubbo.
Glenn Lynch, who rode Iwilldoit at Dubbo last start, will again be in the saddle.
Thompson will have another three from his stable in action with Classical Melody having career start number 30 in the $15,000 Notts Rural and Domestic Benchmark 55 Handicap (1400m).
The Gulgong trainer's other hopes will be Icanacandy in the GH Cole Maiden Plate (900m) and Rexton in the Barnson Pty Ltd Class 2 Plate (900m).
The GH Cole Maiden Plate will be another highlight with the sprint at Wellington always a spectacle thanks to the unique slope on the Wellington track.
Dubbo's Dar Lunn will be hoping Maggiolata can jump well from gate five with Samantha Clenton onboard while fellow Dubbo trainer Clint Lundholm, who has achieved a number of wins recently, will be looking to Kody Nestor to guide Just Danish home.
The hometown hope will be the Garry McCarney-trained Three Trees.
Lundholm's only other hope on the day is Mossamine, another looking to end the dominance of Iwilldoit in the fifth race of the day.
