The HSC starts Monday October 13 with English exams and finishes Wednesday November 5.
For visual arts students Candace Brien and Paris Burns the stress is slightly alleviated by having already finished their major works.
For Candace's major work she photographed the members of her family to show the changes through the generations in an idea from her mum who suggested Candace take portraits of the family and turn it into a piece.
Candace said it was a relief to have the artwork finished a month before the deadline.
"There are times when it is stressful but you've just got to get through it. It's only the HSC," she said.
Candace said when it comes to the end of her school life she can already see the finish line.
Paris said she's not stressed either because the reality of the HSC hasn't hit her yet.
Regardless, she said she's been studying for a few hours every night, getting extra homework from the teachers and ensuring she gets a good night's sleep.
Paris said at this stage her mind is more focused on the year 12 formal and having to leave her school friends behind for a career overseas.
Ohona Alam said she has also been studying everyday in preparation.
She said she's a little nervous and is already counting down until the end of exams.
