Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a house on Cunynghame Street about 1pm on Sunday, August 3 where they found a three-year-old boy unconscious and not breathing.
Officers performed CPR on the boy before he was airlifted to The Children’s Hospital, Westmead, in a critical condition.
The child died from his injuries three days later.
Detectives from Chifley Local Area Command have been conducting investigations to establish how the boy sustained his injuries and urge anyone with information to contact police.
Strike Force Aldyth has been established to investigate the child’s death, and comprises detectives from Chifley Local Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
Yesterday, detectives arrested a 40-year-old woman and charged her with murder.
The Oberon woman was refused bail and will appear in Blayney Local Court today.
