Members of the community were able to see the skills and work of the brigade, while also riding in the fire truck and learning to use the fire hose.
Nine-year-old Charlie Smith said he had a lot of fun using the fire hose to topple four witches hats. Firefighter Lindon Edwards said the RFS Open Day showcased that anything could happen for firefighters out in the field.
"We're trying to promote the fire brigade and get more members. Let people know that we're here," he said.
Mr Edwards said the RFS appreciated everyone who went to the open day and made the event worthwhile.
