The artists from Wujiang are on the program of the 2014 Dubbo Multicultural Festival dinner, an annual event for the community.
Dubbo City Council sister cities officer Kylie Sutherland said the three musicians would be special guest performers at the dinner to be held at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
“Each of the visiting musicians plays a traditional Chinese instrument including the Guzheng, the Sheng and the Dizi,” Ms Sutherland said.
“I encourage all residents to attend the dinner to hear our special guests perform, there will be international cuisine and a variety of entertainment on offer representing many different cultures.”
Residents unable to attend the dinner would be able to see the delegates perform for free in the Dubbo City Council car park directly after the festival’s street parade which would start at the Cyril Flood Rotunda from 3:30pm on Saturday, the sister cities officer said.
Ms Sutherland said the three musicians would be joined by Ji Jianming, a famous paper-cutting artist from Wujiang.
“Mr Ji Jianming will join the delegation as a special guest at the Multicultural Festival dinner and will demonstrate the beautiful and ancient Chinese art of paper cutting for guests,” Ms Sutherland said.
“It will be an enlightening, educational and fun day and night out for all residents, I encourage anyone interested in Chinese culture – particularly music and art – to attend the Multicultural Festival and learn more from our sister city guests.”
Tickets to the Multicultural Festival are $28 for adults, $25 for concession holders, $12 for children (5 – 12 years) or $295 for a table of 14 and are available for purchase from the Dubbo Visitors Information Centre.
