The Rotary Club of Dubbo South cooked the free barbecue while beyondblue information was available, as well as information about local support services and the opportunity to make a mental health pledge.
Beyondblue events and volunteers manager Sam Walker said the partnerships between the organisation and local services provide a brilliant partnership for those in need.
"The local services allow (beyondblue) to get an understanding of important local issues," he said.
"And the local services can make use of our resources and services- it's a win win."
Merilyn Ward mental healthcare co-ordinator at Medicare Local said the day was an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of mental health within the community.
"It was a great day and a great opportunity for people to be able to pick up a card and remember to listen, identify and respond to their family and friends," she said.
