NORTH West Falcons player Emma Davies admits she didn't think anything of it when she came to the aid of a player who was knocked unconscious during a match in the Dubbo and District Soccer Competition earlier this season.

The local paramedic was just doing what came to naturally to her but the actions didn't go unnoticed by those in attendance and Davies is now in the running to receive the ME Bank Green Card for Fairer Play Award.
The recipient of the award is someone who has produced an act of fair play during the season in grassroots' soccer and while Davies admits it is an honour to be nominated, she doesn't think anything of the way she plays the game.
"It's really nice, a lot of the stuff I do I don't even notice, being an 'ambo' when you see someone hurt or injured just naturally you're the first person over there to see if they're OK and it doesn't matter what team they're on," she said.
"My coach called me and said I might get a phone call about it then I did and was told out of a few people who had been nominated I'd won through to the next round."
North West Falcons coach Greg Lillyst was impressed by the way Davies not only supported and encouraged the younger players in the team but also because she was the first one to help any injured player, regardless of what team they played for.
When a teammate was knocked out in a recent match Davies helped carry her from the field and waited for the ambulance to arrived despite the fact she missed the remainder of the match for her Gulgong-based side.
The Falcons team joined the Dubbo competition this season and while results had not always gone their way Davies admitted the team had been great to be a part of and she was hopeful her nomination would help get her team some more publicity and attract more players and supporters.
"Definitely, it would be great if the club could get bigger, we've got a few guys interested so hopefully next year we'll have a men's team and for us it's a lot easier playing here in the Dubbo competition," she said.
The winner of the award, drawn next month, also receives $10,000 for their club and Davies said that would be incredibly beneficial for the Falcons.
"If we could win the $10,000 for our club it would be great and would just boost us, we'd be able to get some more equipment," she said.
"It's a brand new club starting from scratch so we've got a couple of local sponsors so the money would be amazing."
The winner of the nationwide award will be announced on September 25.
