In 30 seconds Dubbo mayor Mathew Dickerson demonstrated the app, making council aware of graffiti at Talbraga's all purpose basketball court.
Watch the video as Cr Dickerson takes you through a step-by-step guide on how to use the app.
“It is ideal for those non-urgent matters where individuals notice something needs fixing or cleaned up like graffiti, rubbish being dumped, a broken sprinkler head, damage to roads or footpaths or some asset of council that may be broken or not in proper working order,” Cr Dickerson said.
“Australia constantly ranks in the top five countries for smartphone penetration with 73 per cent of Australians aged 15-65 currently owning a smartphone so it makes sense to take advantage of the technology. This application can allow our residents to work with staff to ensure maintenance, clean-up and other issues can be investigated by council staff.”
Director of Organisational Service, Craig Giffin explained that once the Snap Send Solve details have been received by e-mail the sender will receive notification of receipt.
“Requests for service are entered into Council’s Customer Request Management system for investigation and action by the appropriate branch to be undertaken in line with Council’s service commitments,” Mr Giffin said.
“All requests for service are ranked according to priority and will be investigated and actioned as appropriate,” Mr Giffin said. “E-mails not requiring service will be treated as correspondence and the sender can expect a reply within ten working days.
Mr Giffin added that there are many ways the public can contact Council including phoning the Customer Service Centre on 6801 4000, e-mailing dcc@dubbo.nsw.gov.au or via the website.
“Snap Send Solve is a convenient way to contact Council. However, any matter that the public consider a safety or dangerous matter that requires an urgent or more immediate response should be lodged by ringing Council’s Customer Service on 6801 4000,” he said.
Now you can help notify council of structural issues you want to fixed too, Just Snap, Send and Solve.
