THE theft of Essential Energy equipment from a site at Dunedoo has prompted NSW Police to appeal to members of the public to report suspicious activity around power poles.

Transformers and protection equipment were stolen from poles at Dunedoo and Craboon.
The power company has warned of the risks of such actions, including that emergency services and members of the public could be at risk if the ability of protection equipment to operate in emergency services was impaired.
Essential Energy has warned people to stay away from the electricity network, and that anyone who tampered with network components was risking their life.
