RiverSmart Australia chief executive officer Dr Bill Phillips one of the leaders of the initiative said already there had been nearly 300 downloads, with about 50 of these being in countries other than Australia.
"These are small beginnings but it's very encouraging to see this interest. When we started Macquarie River Trails we were advised by the experts that this region is a basket case in terms of international visitors, receiving only 0.2 per cent of Australia's tourism expenditure and with the lowest number of international visitors across Australia's regions," Dr Phillips said.
