Mitchell Ashford and Rhys French were recently selected in the Dubbo District Cricket team.
These boys will represent Dubbo District on Friday. They will be hoping they can perform well enough to see them gain a position in the Western Area cricket team.
Orana Heights is well represented in the opens Dubbo District rugby league team by Aiden Lake, Kenny Bell, Sam Bass, Rhys French and Jackson Pearson-Miller. In the 11 years team, Harold Fuller, Dane Charters and Jamal Wells were successful in gaining selection.
A total of 604 skilful swimmers from across western NSW converged on Dubbo Aquatic Centre recently to compete in the Western Area Swimming Carnival. Orana Heights was represented by nine talented swimmers.
Congratulations to the following amazing athletes on their swimming achievements - Aiden Lake, Campbell Stewart, Kady Lake, Annika Walsh, Kenzie MacFarlane, Kate Davis, Anthony Charters, Kenny Bell and Sam Bass.
Both the basketball and netball courts at Orana have been buzzing with activity in recent weeks.
Trials were held to select teams to compete in the NSW Cup Netball Gala Day and in the Divisional Knockout Basketball Day.
Students have been spending almost all their breaks out on the court honing their skills and working on their team work in preparation for these events.
It is great to see them enthusiastically involved in these teams and this is made possible thanks to the teachers who take on coaching jobs in their own time.
Students in years 3 to 6 are currently pondering the wide variety of choices they can participate in for term 2 PSSA sport. Students can choose from hockey, soccer, rugby league or netball.
The Dubbo PSSA competition provides great opportunities for students to develop their skills in these sports while enjoying being part of a team and experiencing friendly competition and sportsmanship with other schools.
Teachers and students alike were looking particularly well dressed and groomed recently in honour of school photos.
All put on their best smiles, knowing that these photos become absolute treasures for families to enjoy for many years to come.
