The 44-year-old from Dubbo cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged victim.
He was granted bail with $1000 surety last month after facing Magistrate Andrew Eckhold in handcuffs.
During an earlier court appearance Legal Aid said the man worked full-time as a territory manager for a food company and was required to travel without notice.
Magistrate Eckhold said failing to appear in court was not a good start.
"This offence carries a maximum sentence of 18 months in jail,'' he said.
"Not turning up to court is a big deal.''
Bail conditions clearly state the man must attend court when required.
He is to be of good behaviour, live at a Dubbo address and report to police.
