Senior ministers of the Barry O'Farrell government will arrive today to discuss a wide range of local issues such as health, law and order and infrastructure.
The Daily Liberal implores them to bring their listening ears, because residents have a right to put their case to those who can help solve problems.
Residents of Leavers and O'Donnell streets, for example, are expected to turn out in large numbers to speak their mind about a variety of issues. Break-ins, theft and damage to property are just some of the problems these residents would like to see solved.
Four months ago, the NSW Community Cabinet was held at Tamworth and a tough crowd was expected prior to it taking place which may be repeated at Dubbo.
At the time, ABC reported deputy premier Andrew Stoner had said a tough crowd was one of many risks that were taken when a cabinet was brought to the people.
"Issues (include) law and order, health, education, roads, bridges, mining and agriculture...we need to make sure we address all these, and don't get locked into the one issue," he said.
His acknowledgement that people have real problems, albeit varied, is encouraging.
The public forum and any outcomes from it will show if the government is serious about and has the policies to improve people's lives.
But the onus is also on those with problems to turn up a voice there today - otherwise nothing will change.
The public forum will kick off at 12pm today at the Dubbo RSL Memorial Club.
