He jumped out as police stopped and searched a white Holden Commodore at the Wheelers Lane and Birch Avenue intersection about 10.30am Tuesday.
Police will allege the 24-year-old got out and tried to run away, prompting a brief struggle in which he punched a police officer in the jaw. It will also be alleged that the man was wanted for breaching bail conditions after failing to report to the Dubbo Police Station since January.
He was charged with breach of bail, travelling in the boot of a vehicle, resisting and assaulting police. He was already wanted for aggravated break and enter and resisting police.
The man was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court on February 20.
