Flix in the Stix is back for another year at Dubbo and is tipped to entertain, enlighten and enthrall, as guests can watch the latest batch of short films brought to them by Australian film heavyweight Nash Edgerton at the Lazy River Estate on Friday, February 8.
One of Australia's most celebrated bands, the three-time ARIA award-winning artists The Whitlams, will perform an intimate outdoor set for all in attendance.
Back by popular demand, larrikin bush poet Murray Hartin, who proved poetry was a genuine art form at the 2012 event, is back as the spoken word artist. Mr Hartin will provide a comedic edge to bush poetry, as he did last year.
Tickets are now available at flixinthestix.com.au for $36.90 for adults (general admission) and $69.90 for the Optus Lawn Lounge (which includes entry for one, a reserved bean bag, wood-fired pizza and a complimentary drink). Those with a general admission ticket are welcome to bring their own food and drink in a picnic basket (excluding glass and alcohol).
In case of wet weather, the event will either be held indoors (although a location is not currently known) or postponed to a later date. All news and announcements can be found on the Flix in the Stix Facebook page.
Last year's event was held at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre because of a wash out at the Lazy River Estate.
Stay tuned for a feature story on Flix in the Stix in future editions of the Daily Liberal and Mailbox Shopper.
