Students from Dubbo South, Delroy and Dubbo High inspected facilities at the school including the gymnasium, cafeteria and library.
Delroy High students Shiralee Hartnett and Kirrilea Mills said they were excited about seeing the new school for the first time.
“So far everything has looked great - we love the gym and the dance studio,” Kirrilea said.
However both girls admitted students had been “kept in the dark” about the development of the school and had concerns about all three local high schools assimilating.
“It’s certainly going to be different and awkward for a while but hopefully everyone will get over it,” Shiralee said.
“We’re all keen to see the uniform which we have not been told much about - we just hope it’s not going to be taupe like we heard a while ago.”
Kirrilea added the best features of the school were the dance and drama studio and the range of subjects on offer.
“We already love the performance area because we were all in the Rock Eisteddfod last year and Delroy has nothing like this,” she said.

Senior campus principal Maureen Jarvis told the students the school was one of the best in the state, if not Australia, which had some effect on the girls.
“It’s a big expectation to live up to - being at the best school in Australia,” Shiralee said.
“But we’ll all just work at it - it’ll be cool.”
Dubbo College deputy principal and orientation day organiser Bob Wilson said the reaction from students had been terrific.
“The orientation day allows the students to come in and visit the school prior to moving in and create a sense of belonging,” he said.
“We also wanted the kids from different schools to socialise and meet each other and for the staff to meet each other as well.
“Hopefully seeing the new school will encourage a lot of kids to stay on after Year 10 and continue with their education.”
The city’s Year 9 students will get the chance to see the school next week while the public have their chance this weekend.
Interested members of the public are invited to tour the school on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
The college concert band will be performing in the gymnasium from 12.30pm to 1.30pm and light refreshments will be available from the new cafeteria.
