A MAN who allegedly discharged a gun in a public place has fronted court on firearms and break and enter charges.

The 25-year-old man has faced Orange Local Court following an incident that occurred in Parkes on Tuesday.
Detectives attached to the Central West Police District attended a home on Welcome Road in Parkes at 12.45pm on Tuesday following reports shots were fired on the property.
"Officers executed a crime scene warrant at the property where they located and seized a bolt action rifle, ammunition and property alleged to be linked to recent break and enters in the area," police said.
"The 25-year-old man was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station."
The man was charged with: use unregistered firearm-not prohibited firearm/pistol; firearm found at premises-subject to prohibition order; two counts of acquire firearm - subject to prohibition order; two counts of fire firearm in or near public place; break and enter house; and steal value and enter building/land with intent commit indictable offence.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Orange Local Court on Thursday.
