A HEATWAVE is predicted for parts of the Central West with some locations set to see the mercury soar to the early 40s.

The Bureau of Meteorology alerts states that low intensity heatwave conditions are forecast to continue over large parts of Western NSW until Thursday this week.
Western parts of the Central West will be the hottest, with Dubbo’s temperatures predicted to reach as high as 37 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, before soaring to 41 on Thursday.
Hot days are also predicted in Parkes with tops in the mid to high 30s on Tuesday and Wednesday and 40 on Thursday.
Meanwhile it will be a little cooler in Bathurst, Lithgow and Mudgee, with the mercury predicted to stay in the early 30s through until Thursday.
In Orange, the temperatures should reach the high 20s on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by 31 on Thursday.
