Healthy Ears Teacher Hayley Rees said they are excited by the support the public has given to its work.
“The Eliza Hall Charitable Foundation has committed $750,000 to the Hear Our Heart Ear Bus Project and with this funding, we have been able to employ staff to service more schools within our region with both Healthy Ears education and hearing testing,” she said.
“We were also grateful to receive a donation from Regional Australia Bank in partnership with Dubbo District Deaf Club recently.
“These donations will enable us to get local success stories like the nine-year-old from Yeoval who was not on our list to test as he had not shown any identifiers. It turns out he had a hearing loss and had just adapted to communicating in his large family. Thanks to our project, he now has hearing aids.”
