A committed group of helpers is working hard to try and develop the first mobile children's ear clinic in NSW and the golf day, to be held on March 17, is a major fundraiser towards making that dream a reality.

Jason Chatfield is part of that organising committee and said he was inspired to help when his now three-year-old son was born profoundly deaf.

"It's an emotional, financial and physical struggle for these kids and we want to help however we can," Chatfield said.

"Children with hearing difficulties can have many other problems that are associated.

"Undiagnosed ear disease can impact on speech and communication, which can lead to mental health issues and we want to pull together the gaps and try to make things as easy as possible for these children and their families.

"There's a lot of great and worthwhile charities out there but this is one that looks after our local kids, which is something we are proud of."

With that in mind, Chatfield and his group are seeking players and sponsors for the golf day.

The day will be held in a four-man ambrose format with a shotgun start.

"I'd like to think we could get somewhere between 100 to 150 players," Chatfield said.

"And we would like to get as many sponsors on board as well. Whether they sponsor a hole or just donate an item to be won on the day.

"Every little bit will help, and because we would like to turn this into an annual thing, if we can ensure everyone has a great time the first time around then hopefully we can continue to grow in future years.

"Donations are tax deductible for the people that make them so it would be good if we could get as many people and businesses on board as possible."
