On Friday August 2 the 33-year-old was reported missing from his home in Alfred Street.
Following investigations, police executed a number of crime scene warrants and subsequently charged a 51-year-old man and 24-year-old woman with his alleged murder.
Strike Force Cornelius, comprising detectives from Orana Local Area Command, was formed to investigate Mr Rez’s death.
Detectives believe there may be members of the community who can assist with information about his disappearance and his death.
They are appealing for anyone who saw a 4WD travelling through the Dubbo area around 3am on Monday, July 29.
Orana Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Rod Blackman, said the vehicle is described as a black 2010 model Great Wall 4WD with roof racks.
“It is believed the vehicle first left Dubbo heading towards Narromine, then travelled the back roads to Nyngan via the Dandaloo area, and returned to Dubbo around 10am.
A search has been extended to the Troy Bridge / Macquarie River area, utilising PolAir and Police Divers.
Some items of significance, believed to be used in the alleged murder of Rez, have been located in the Macquarie River. As such, police are extending their appeal for information from anybody who may have information in relation to this matter.
“We would like to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle in the weeks leading up to Monday 29July, or on that day.
“Additionally, anyone with information about any out of the ordinary activity around the Dubbo area, particularly around road reserves, travelling stock routes and the rivers, should come forward,” Detective Inspector Blackman said.
