Orana Local Area Command crime manager inspector Rod Blackman said the search would continue today with the police divers expected to continue to comb the bed of the river near the Ford Bridge.
Inspector Blackman held a media conference on the banks of the Macquarie on Wednesday afternoon and said the divers were acting on, "very reliable information that suggested items connected with [the disappearance of] Rez" had been discarded in the river.
However the combing of the river bed had yet to turn up any of the items in question.
The police divers had a fire burning close to the waters' edge as they toiled in freezing conditions.
One of the team said the divers' fingers and faces were the parts most impacted by the cold water during their work.
