It has been the task of Orana LAC to plan where police resources that will be needed as an estimated 15,000 young adults flock to the city for the free music concert event.
Orana LAC sergeant Adam Wood said Dubbo police have been liasing with other emergency services, Dubbo City Council and One Night Stand co-ordinators ABC FM radio station triple j to plan for the concert on April 13.
There will be four horses from the mounted police unit in Sydney attending the concert and a drug detection dog at each entrance to the Dubbo Showground.
"The mounted police unit will be there to assist with the expected large crowd to and from the venue," Sergeant Wood said.
"We are going to have additional local resources around the showground."
Sergeant Wood said a lot of work has gone into the planning where police resources are to be allocated for the concert.
"Obviously it is very detailed as we look at risk assessments," he said.
"I don't think we have had an event like this (in Dubbo) for a while."
Sergeant Wood said the additional resources in and around the Dubbo Showground were to ensure the people attending the concert have an enjoyable time.
Many of those attending the One Night Stand will be visitors to Dubbo and Sergeant Wood said the Orana LAC wanted to ensure they left the city with a positive experience.
"We want to promote Dubbo as a safe and vibrant city," he said.
"We are here to assist the co-ordinators of the event."
On March 6 triple j announced the Dubbo Showground would be the venue for the 10th anniversary of the One Night Stand concert.
An influx of thousands of people to Dubbo for the event has been predicted to boost the local economy by hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars.
Music fans will see acts Flume, The Rubens, Ball Park Music and Seth Sentry take to the stage with a local act, not yet announced, to open the concert.
