The political satire stars Jonathan Biggins as Paul Keating, focusing on key biographical milestones, landmark achievements and personal obsessions. Mr Biggins said it showed the man who grew up in the tribe of the Labor Party and gained an education at the knee of Jack Lang, who treated economics as an art form, and demanded we confront the wrongs of our colonial past.
As well as holding the lead role, Mr Biggins also wrote the 75-minute play.

"It's obviously funny, because Keating is a very funny guy, it's a bit of a history lesson, it's a walk down memory lane. He's got some very pointed things to say about what's gone wrong with politics in this country," Mr Biggins said.
"There are some more poignant moments, you see the more human side of him. A lot of his public persona was just that, it was put on.

"And it's a reminder of how things used to be and can be again if someone has the political will and the strength to lead rather than just be popular."
Mr Biggins started doing his Paul Keating impressions during The Wharf Revue with the Sydney Theatre Company. He said the former prime minister had always been a popular character to do because he was funny and had useful things to say.
"When he saw me appearing as him in the Wharf Revue his first comment was: 'I'd be wearing a better suit'. Sadly, we didn't have the budget for Zegna and then to be perfectly honest, we still don't," Mr Biggins said.
From the first impressions, the actor said he wanted to take a deeper look at Mr Keating and try to do a three-dimensional biography. It took him a few years on and off to write the screenplay.
Audiences have responded very strongly. It has sold out in places such as Woolongong, Penrith and Newcastle, as well as Orange.
"Love him or hate him I think he's sorely missed and that kind of decisive, political leadership is definitely missed by everybody," Mr Biggins said.
The actor and writer said he was looking forward to coming to Dubbo for the first time.
The Gospel According to Paul will be at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre on Thursday, April 4 at 7.30pm.
