The city is the first in NSW to get to try the technology and the feedback from the trial will play an important part in shaping the way it will integrate into a Service NSW app next year.
Nine licenced premises around Dubbo will accept the digital licence during the trial, along with police.
Service NSW Dubbo Manager Paul Sutton is encouraging more people to sign up to take part in the trial.
“We really want to test the digital driver licence in as many real life situations as possible, to do this we have worked with hotels in the area to train them on scanning and accepting the digital driver licence,” he said.
“There is also a trial event planned with NSW Police where police will be conducting simulated in-vehicle licence checks to test the app functionality, visibility and ease of use for customers.
Residents of the 2830 postcode can register for the trial at service.nsw.gov.au or at the Dubbo Service Centre.
