Registrations are now open for anyone within the 2830 postcode to put their hand up for the trail which will begin in November.
As well as presenting it to police, the digital licence can also be used at: Milestone Hotel, Western Star Hotel, Castlereagh Hotel, Commercial Hotel, Pastoral Hotel, Amaroo Hotel, Westside Hotel, Garden Hotel and Macquarie Inn.
Dubbo is the first location in the state to be trialing the new licences. It’s the first change to the form of identification since licences were laminated in 1989.
From the young to the old, a wide variety of residents are encourage to test the licence. It’s not open for heavy vehicle or bike licences.
Registrations will be available at www.service.nsw.gov.au or in store at the Dubbo Service Centre.
Participants will still be required to carry their physical licence.
The NSW government is hoping to have digital licences across NSW by 2019.
