It’s become an Australian tradition to celebrate any sort of victory against the English and now Dubbo has a big chance to be part of one such win.

The Toyota Tour de OROC is aiming to reclaim a world record for the most number of sponsors on a jersey after it was stolen just months after being set in 2013.
In October 2013 then-Dubbo mayor Mathew Dickerson had 89 sponsors on his jersey when the Tour de OROC started, setting a record.
Englishman Arran Linton-Smith broke that record in 2014 when he rode in a 100-kilometre race in London to raise money for the National Autistic Society UK.
Mr Dickerson said he wanted to get the record back in Australian hands.
“We mightn’t get a chance to see Australia play for the Ashes this year because of the cricket pay dispute so this might be our best chance to get one against the Poms,” he said lightheartedly.
“This rivalry started because he [Linton-Smith] saw what we had done and decided he wanted to beat it.
“Now we are just looking for that record back again.”
Tour de OROC raises money for the Macquarie Homestay Regional Patient and Family Accommodation facility and the two previous rides contributed $300,000.
Mr Dickerson is hoping 110 businesses will come on board to help set a record, and also to provide more support for Macquarie Homestay.
Since launching the 2017 tour in mid-June, Mr Dickerson has been encouraged by the amount of interest from sponsors and riders.
He hopes to have everything finalised by the end of August, ahead of the ride on October 2-7, and so is calling on everyone who is interested to commit to the project.
An information session for riders and potential sponsors will be held at the Milestone Hotel on Thursday, August 3 from 6pm.
“It’s an opportunity for those who are interested in riding to come along and see what it’s about,” Mr Dickerson said.
