The children each received chocolate easter eggs and a toy, made possible due to the help from the generous staff members at Woolworths.
Woolworths store manager Scott Coggan said Easter in particular was a special time of the year for the staff.
“This is the first year we’ve had the Easter Bunny visit the kids, and I think it will now be something they can look forward to and get excited for every year,” he said. “As well as helping the kids, we also wanted to say a special thank you to the medical staff for their kindness and dedication to our kids.”
Mr Coggan said that for some of the kids times can be tough, and things can be dull which is not what he wanted to see for young children.
“We wanted to share some of the seasonal joy with those kids that need it the most,” he said.
The staff in the children’s ward also received a bundle of fresh hot cross buns from Woolworths.
The most recent Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal saw $30,000 raised within the local community, which will be spent on medical equipment once decisions have been made regarding the extent of the redevelopment within the hospital.
