Founder Simon Rollin said that ticket sales had been strong and a weather hotline was available for updated information.
“With the up and down nature at the moment, we’ve confirmed the Dubbo Regional Theatre as our wet weather venue,” he said.
“We’re very excited to kick off the tour in Dubbo, we had a great event last year.”
Of the eight cities this year, Tamworth, Bowral and Wagga Wagga are joining the tour for the first time.
But Dubbo gets the first look at the pick of short films for Flix 2012, which promises to be an entertaining night.
Mr Rollin said the films selected were all suitable for a family audience.
“The collection is selected by a panel of film enthusiasts and include films which we believe will take our audience on a unique journey,” he said.
“We invite filmmakers to send us their films for consideration, and we also approach those whose films we feel would be a good fit for a Flix event.”
Joel Edgerton’s Tropfest 2011 finalist Monkeys is on the lineup alongside animations and entries from New Zealand and the US.
Brother Nash’s sequel Bear is also a highlight, having officially competed at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011 and the just-finished Sundance Film Festival in the United States.
Tickets are still on sale through the Dubbo Visitor Information Centre, Moshtix, or flixinthestix.com.au .
