The Dubbo Arts and Crafts Society yesterday issued a call for entries into its prestigious biennial exhibition.
On its 24th occasion the society would like to showcase the region’s talent.
It will offer prize money and the opportunity to display the results of hours of hard work to a wide audience.
The exhibition had previously drawn large crowds, some visitors coming from Orange, Bathurst and Canberra, society publicity officer Isobel Morgan said.
“This is a great draw card for Dubbo,” she said.
The society has booked Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre and Ms Morgan wanted to give visitors something to talk about.
Art, cottage craft, spinning, weaving and knitting, embroidery and wood turning make up the five classes of the exhibition.
Entrants do not have to be a member of the society and Ms Morgan would particularly welcome children’s efforts.
“This is open to everyone within a 200km radius of Dubbo,” Ms Morgan said.

“We take entries from children aged eight years and over and from teenagers.”
The art class has seven sections including pastels, oils, traditional and contemporary sculpture and more.
Entry forms can be completed at the society’s cottage shop at 137 Cobra Street by Friday, while items of art or craft are not needed until the week of the exhibition.
