The boys have done a lot of hard work on six apparatus including floor, high bar, rings, vault, hobble horse and parallel bars Dubbo PCYC Dance and Gymnastics Manager Andrew Bassett said.
“All the boys have all been involved in gymnastics for a minimum of 12 months, some five years. They train a minimum of four hours a week and up to 12 hours,” he said.
Some of the standout performers for the Dubbo PCYC were Corey Tran, Joshua Mann and Oliver Knight who all placed in the top 10 of their divisions.
Dubbo PCYC gymnastics program co-ordinator Anne-Marie Cox said all of those in the gymnastics programs, including the program coaches Michael Nay, Trisha Harland, Kerrod Potter and Jackson Bray, were proud of the boys’ efforts.
“It is usual, we have had gymnasts in the past go on to win state championships. Our main goal for the weekend was to get a qualifying score for state so we could attend,” Ms Cox said.
