Mr Ringland grew up between Narromine and Dubbo and said a big part of his motivation to try out for the high-pressure cooking show came from good old-fashioned home-cooked dinners.
Mr Ringland along with his teammate and old high school friend Alex McCann have made mention of their childhood suppers, however Mr Ringland’s father, David, wasn’t so sure. “Bill says on the show he got his interest in cooking and his skills from his mother, but I dispute that,” he told the Daily Liberal.
In the show contestants have only six hours to shop for and cook a banquet of three courses as well as decorate a dining area to create a ‘mood’ for the feast.
They are then judged on each course and given feedback by celebrity chef judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel with fellow contestants also giving their feedback on the overall culinary experience.
