Charles has been with the production since its Melbourne season, which opened on April15 and has completed 117 shows in Melbourne and Brisbane.
“He has done Fame The Musical’s Melbourne season and the Brisbane season,” Charles’ father Peter Bartley said.
The Sydney season of the musical opened on Thursday night, with his very-proud mother heading down for the premier show.
Mr Bartley has previously seen his son in the musical, watching the Australian premiere in Melbourne.
Charles Bartley got his break on Channel 10’s hit show So You Think You Can Dance, coming runner-up in the show’s second season.
He was awarded favourite male dancer, and won praise and fans with his effortless and stylistic dancing and easy, approachable personality.
Mr Bartley said his son had pursued other opportunities between his commitments to the musical.
“In between the Brisbane and Sydney seasons there was a break and he successfully auditioned for Tap Dogs,” Mr Bartley said.
This saw Charles perform at the Dally M awards earlier this year with the renowned tap group.
Charles also performed in front of Sir Richard Branson and Delta Goodrem at Virgin Airways’ 10th birthday celebration.
As well as dancing Charles has also showed promise as a talented choreographer.
“He was selected as a choreographer at the audition for the Australian Glee,” Mr Bartley said.
With Charles’ birthday soon approaching, the family is planning a trip so they can all celebrate with him.
“He turns 21 on November 14 and the whole family is going down to see him perform and celebrate his 21st,” Mr Bartley said.
He added Charles’ entire family was very proud of what had achieved at the beginning of his career.
“His progress since So You Can Think You Can Dance has been amazing - his mother and I are very proud of his performance ability.
“The whole family is extremely proud and happy that his hard work is being rewarded.”
